REGULATIONS
for the 2008 Australian Inland Wine Show
- No wine is to be entered more than once in the show.
- No limit to the number of entries per class.
- Each entry is to consist of four (4) 750 ml. bottles or their equivalent in smaller bottles.
- Exhibitors please note Trophy and Gold medal award winners will be requested to supply additional bottles for the Presentation Dinner, Exhibitors and Public Tasting.
- Exhibitors shall be judged out of 60 points and awards made as follows:-
- Gold Award 55.5 to 60.0 pts.
- Silver Award 51.0 to 55.0 pts.
- Bronze Award 46.5 to 50.5 pts.
- Very Highly Commended 55.5 to 60.0 pts.
- Highly Commended 51.0 to 55.0 pts.
- Commended 46.5 to 50.5 pts.
- Exhibitor’s points shall be awarded as follows:-
- Gold - 5 points
- Silver - 3 points
- Bronze - 1 point
- Points will be tallied to ascertain the Most Successful Exhibitor.
- Wines competing in the Australian Inland Wine Show shall be made using a minimum of 85% of grapes grown within the Australian Geographical Indicator regions of:-
- SWAN HILL
- MURRAY DARLING
- RIVERINA
- RIVERLAND
- Any wines produced outside the nominated G.I. will be eligible to enter this Wine Show, provided 85% of the grapes are grown within the G.I. regions specified in 7 above.
- All wines in “Open Class” submitted are required to arrive fully dressed and be commercially available at the time of judging.
- All entries will be judged and pointed. However only entries fully dressed and commercially available at the time of judging will be eligible for trophies and medals with the exception of Section 9.
- Entries not conforming with Regulation 11, but obtaining higher than 46.5 points will receive Commended, Highly Commended or a Very Highly Commended Award.
- Entries in the single varietal classes must have a minimum of 85% of the specified variety.
- The predominant component of an entry in a blend class must not exceed 84% of the total volume. All components and percentages of the blend must be nominated on the entry form.
- All Exhibits shall conform to the respective Act of the States and Commonwealth of Australia which govern the production and sale of Australian Wine and Australian Brandy, i.e. the Customs and Excise Act and Regulations, the Spirit Act and Regulations, the Health Act and Regulations.
- A fee of $30.00 per entry. Entry fees to be payable before Judging, Saturday 4th October 2008. ENTRIES WILL BE WITHDRAWN UNLESS THE REQUIRED FEE HAS BEEN PAID BY DAY OF JUDGING.
Fees are non-refundable.
- The Stewards reserve the right to transfer entries from one class to another.
- Australian Inland Wine Show labels will be forwarded to exhibitors on receipt of entry forms.
- All Exhibitors must pay the freight costs of their entries.
Cases shall be properly marked with the exhibitor’s name and address and enclosed entries.
All wines must be delivered no later than September 12th, 2008.
- The Australian Inland Wine Show Committee reserves the right to audit any Entry for the following reasons: -
- Non conformance with the production requirement for each class.
- Regional integrity
- Compositional integrity
- Any other matter.
- The decision of the Australian Inland Wine Show Committee is final.
- All Organic Wine must be accredited with Organic Certification Body, i.e. B.F.A. or similar body.
All stages of grape production and wine making must be certified.
A copy of the relevant certification certificate must be forwarded with the application.
- All results from this year’s wine show will be published in the Results Catalogue, released to the media, public and displayed on www.inlandwine.com.

Producers will not use medals, stickers, symbols or other devices on a bottle or soft pack in order to misleadingly convey the impression that the wine has received an award at an open, objective and independent competition.

Awards received by an individual wine will bear the year of award, the name Australian Inland Wine Show,
the class number and as a rule shall only be applied to wines bearing the name under which the exhibit was entered. |

“The Most Successful Exhibitor” can not be used to suggest an individual wine has received any particular distinction. This award will not be presented on the bottle in the form of a medal. |
| (c) |
The use of gold, black and gold discs, bronze discs and silver discs to promote anniversaries, events, sponsorship and the like, must not be used. Stickers and symbols or other devices should be sufficiently differentiated from show medals in terms of shape and/or colour to ensure no confusion.
- It is recognised that identification stickers attached to a bottle for wine not intended for resale, such as supplied to airlines, may fall outside the control of the producer.

Compliance by a producer (including by subsidiaries or by associated companies) with this Code of Practice be a prerequisite for entry to the Australian Inland Wine Show of which the display of awards or medals are authorised by the AWBC for export to Europe. |
